So I've got my own LGBTQ store, which I got the idea to create through covid-19. I never in a million years expected to set up my own business but somethings you never see coming. I felt more so then ever there was little to no representation for the LGBTQ community through retail and shops, especially on the high street. Maybe one or two big brands might bring out something pride related or a couple of flags to jump on board during pride events. But I never see anything else through the rest of the year. It's like "hello, I'm also gay the rest of the year".
So then I had the ideas to make my own designs which include LGBTQ theme art work and I can either wear them on clothing or have them in items such as greeting cards, colouring books and art prints. I feel like so many people who are LGBTQ are missing out on this within wanting to buy something they can either relate to or feel a part of something within retail and products they may buy.
For example, card shops are massively outdated to the selection of cards they have. We seem too have just stopped at cards what are for heterosexual couples and totally forgot that the LGBTQ community exist. I believe the choice out there is very limited if anything and I aim to add more choice and options which will be available all the time, no matter what time during the year.
I want more than just the pride flag thrown on to a t-shirt. I want something someone will think that's different and never been done before. I want something that is colourful, bold and sometimes something a little bit risque to show my personality and who I am.
